Flybondi Adds Two Airbus A320s, Diversifying Its Fleet for the First Time
Flybondi will add two more aircraft to its fleet, but in this case, the planes that will be incorporated in the coming days are not the usual Boeing 737 800 used by the company but rather Airbus 320, with a capacity of 180 seats.
Lithuanian registration
The aircraft being added have a Lithuanian registration and will operate under the ACMI model in the country. This is made possible by a reform to the Aeronautical Code, which allows foreign personnel to perform roles in commercial aviation services and the use of aircraft with foreign registration.
The planes arrive through an agreement with Avion Express, part of Avia Solutions Group, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies. Avion Express is currently in the process of obtaining its air operator certificate in Brazil, aiming to further expand its business in Latin America.
The aircraft will be operational from November 2024 to March 2025, allowing the low-cost airline to strengthen its route network by adding new frequencies and evaluating new destinations.
Strengthening the proposal
“This growth in our fleet allows us to offer a great proposal for the summer season because we will increase domestic flights and frequencies on our routes to Brazil,” said Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi.
He added, “We are also evaluating the addition of new destinations in the short and medium term. Flybondi’s commitment to Argentina is solid and sustainable: today, we are the largest private Argentine airline in the country, and we aim to boost productive development, job creation, and tourism.”
Flybondi has already transported more than 13,000,000 people since it began operations in 2018, democratizing air travel, with 20% of its passengers flying for the first time in their lives.
The airline currently flies to 19 domestic destinations and 3 international destinations, across 26 routes (18 domestic from and to Buenos Aires, 5 interprovincial, and 3 international).
