St. Maarten and Aruba: Delta Air Lines boosts flights between Minneapolis and the Caribbean
Delta Air Lines will strengthen connectivity between Minneapolis and the Caribbean with new routes to St. Maarten and Aruba for next summer. In addition, more flights are being added from Minneapolis to Grand Cayman and San Juan, Puerto Rico, giving customers a wide choice of sun and beach destinations.
“As the leading airline from MSP to Latin America and the Caribbean, we look forward to increasing our seats to these popular destinations, offering our customers unmatched convenience and more choice. With the addition of Aruba, St. Maarten and the recently added Mazatlan, customers have three new sunny destinations to look forward to this winter,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning.
Delta’s new route from Minneapolis to Aruba
Starts December 20.
- Minneapolis (MSP) 07:05 – Aruba (AUA) 14:55 Friday and Sunday.
- Aruba (AUA) 16:10 – Minneapolis (MSP) 20:55 Friday and Sunday.
Delta’s new route from Minneapolis to St. Maarten
Starts December 19.
- Minneapolis (MSP) 07:05 – St. Maarten (SXM) 14:10 Thursdays and Saturdays.
- St. Maarten (SXM) 16:05 – Minneapolis (MSP) 20:25 Thursdays and Saturdays.
All new routes will be operated on Boeing 757-200 (75D) aircraft with 199 seats in three classes: 20 First Class, 29 Delta Comfort+ and 150 Main Cabin.
In addition, Delta is increasing service to Grand Cayman with one additional flight for a total of three, and San Juan (Puerto Rico) with two extra weekly flights for a total of ten. A route to Mazatlan will be available this winter, expanding its offering of beach and sun destinations in Mexico.
Delta will schedule 126 weekly flights and provide more than 20,000 seats per week from Minneapolis to 15 popular destinations this winter, including locations such as Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Liberia/Guanacaste in Costa Rica and Montego Bay in Jamaica.
“The continued increase in international travel has been a key trend for MSP in recent years, and we are excited to see Delta add this new service. With the addition of these new flights, travelers in the Upper Midwest region now have the widest range of options to Latin America and the Caribbean in its history. It’s a great time to start planning that winter getaway,” said Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates MSP Airport.
