Air Canada commenced operations at Dubai Airport Terminal 3

Emirates and Air Canada continue to enhance customer service in the two airlines’ strategic partnership with the start of the Canadian airline’s move of operations to Dubai International Airport Terminal 3, which took place on July 26, 2023.

The new location will combine the operations of both airline operators in one of the world’s leading terminals significantly optimizing the connecting experience for customers and highlights the benefits of the partnership between the two airlines launching in November 2022.

Customers transferring in Dubai between the Americas with Air Canada and the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Africa with Emirates will be able to have a seamless and fast experience with the convenience of staying in the same terminal.

Air Canada’s first service to Terminal 3 was flight AC 56 operated on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner registered as C-FRSR. The aircraft departed Lester Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 00:18 local time and arrived at Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 20:11, after 11 hours and 52 minutes.

Air Canada’s new home at Dubai International Terminal 3 is an important milestone that underscores the relevance of our strategic partnership with Emirates and the importance of our flights between the UAE and Canada. We express our sincere thanks to both Emirates and Dubai Airports for their partnership in facilitating this move, which will greatly benefit our mutual customers,” said Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President, Network and Revenue Planning.

Air Canada’s dedicated check-in counters and baggage allowance for Signature Class customers are now available in the First & Business, Premium Economy and Economy unloading area located at the main gate. Air Canada Signature Class customers and Aeroplan Elite members (Aeroplan 50K and above) will also be able to access the Emirates Business Class Lounge located in Terminal 3.

Since November 2022, the airlines have expanded their codeshare cooperation to 42 routes, optimized their underlying interline agreement, developed a partnership in traveler programs for customers to earn and redeem miles on a reciprocal basis, maximized cooperation between their cargo businesses and increased capacity at their respective hubs.

In addition, Air Canada has developed a partnership with flydubai, Emirates’ sister airline. Aeroplan and Skywards members can earn and redeem points when traveling with Air Canada or Emirates.
