Volaris El Salvador began flights to Miami
On March 28, Volaris El Salvador expanded connectivity between the United States and Central America with its first flight between San Salvador (SAL) and Miami (MIA). The company is the first Salvadoran low cost airline to have regular flights to the state of Florida.
Flight N3 4324 was operated in an Airbus A320 with registration N546VL, which took off from El Salvador International Airport (SAL) at 09:04 local time and landed at Miami International Airport (MIA) at 15:12, after a technical stopover in San Pedro Sula, Honduras (SAP).
Present at the celebration of this new service were Manuel Andreu, Volaris El Salvador Regional Manager; Consul General of El Salvador in Miami Ricardo Ernesto Cucalón; MIA Director and CEO Ralph Cutié; Sonia Castro, Director of Constituency Services, Office of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kevin M. Cabrera; MIA Deputy Director Ken Pyatt; and MIA Deputy Director Basil A. Binns II.
Volaris El Salvador will offer 1,116 weekly seats on its new route to Miami (MIA) and will compete in this segment with legacy carriers such as American Airlines and Avianca.

- San Salvador – San Pedro Sula Flight N3 4324 SAL 09:00 – SAP 09:55 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- San Pedro Sula – Miami Flight N3 4324 SAP 10:55 – MIA 15:10 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Miami – San Pedro Sula Flight N3 4325 MIA 16:40 – SAP 17:07 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- San Pedro Sula – San Salvador Flight N3 4325 SAP 18:07 – SAL 18:58 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The route is operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 186 seats in single configuration and promotional fares are available from 102 USD each way.
More than 260,000 passengers flew between MIA and San Salvador (SAL) in 2022. With the start of operations, Volaris El Salvador becomes the 100th airline and the 11th low cost carrier to operate at Miami International Airport (MIA).
Volaris‘ U.S. network from the Salvadoran capital has services to New York (JFK), Washington – Dulles (IAD), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Houston – Intercontinental (IAH) and Oakland (OAK) and a weekly offer of 11,028 seats.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Department of Transportation (DOT), 1,984,092 passengers were mobilized in 2021 between El Salvador and the United States. San Salvador (SAL) is the second most important Central American destination in the U.S., behind only Panama – Tocumen (PTY).
