With flights to Orlando, Lynx Air opens international operations

This Friday (27), Lynx Air began international operations with a non-stop service between Toronto (YYZ) and Orlando (MCO). Byy February the airline will have three more destinations in its U.S. network from its main base in Calgary (YYC).

Flight DAT 605, operated in a Boeing 737 MAX registered C-GUUL, took off from Lester Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 10:24 local time and landed at Orlando International Airport (MCO) at 13:01, after two hours and 37 minutes.

The Canadian low-cost carrier will offer 1,512 weekly seats between Toronto (YYZ) and Orlando (MCO). Lynx Air is the fourth largest carrier in this segment with an 8% share of the market, competing with Air Canada, WestJet and Air Transat.

Flight Itinerary

  • Toronto – Orlando Flight DAT 605 YYZ 09:00 – MCO 12:11 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Orlando – Toronto Flight DAT 704 MCO 13:25 – YYZ 16:30 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The route will be operated in Boeing 737-8 aircraft with a capacity of 189 passengers in single configuration and promotional fares are available starting at USD 80 one way.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) statistics, 792,236 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Orlando (MCO) and Toronto (YYZ). The Canadian metropolis is the second-largest international market for Florida’s main airport.

By the end of February, Lynx Air will have non-stop flights from Calgary (YYX) to Las Vegas (LAS) with four flights a week, Phoenix (PHX) and Los Angeles (LAX) both services will operate with three flights a week. The low cost airline will offer 5,292 seats per week between Canada and the United States.
