Emirates resumes daily flights to Mexico City

Last Thursday (23), Emirates increased its operations between Dubai (DXB) and Mexico City (MEX) via Barcelona (BCN) to daily flights, restoring its pre-pandemic capacity, now offering more than 2,000 seats a week to and from the Mexican capital.

Flight Itinerary

  • Dubai – Barcelona Flight EK 255 DXB 03:25 – BCN 08:35
  • Barcelona – Mexico City Flight EK 255 BCN 10:50 – DXB 16:05
  • Mexico City – Barcelona Flight EK 256 DXB 19:40 – BCN 13:45+1
  • Barcelona – Dubai Flight EK 256 BCN 15:30 – DXB 00:15+1

The flights will be operated on Boeing 777-200LR aircraft with a capacity of 302 seats in two classes (38 Business Class/264 Economy). Emirates has 5th Freedom rights between BCN and MEX, allowing it to transport passengers between the two cities.

The service of the Gulf’s largest airline supports business and leisure traffic to destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean region. For Mexico, the UAE is a gateway to the Middle East. Dubai also continues to attract leisure travelers from Latin America with its ever-expanding list of experiences.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) in the January-April period Emirates has moved 43,901 passengers and 7,210.72 tons of cargo from Mexico in 649 air operations. The United Arab Emirates represents a 43.96% share of the Asian market in the Aztec country, being the main Asian destination in Mexico.

Emirates’ schedule in Latin America for the 2022/2023 winter boreal season

According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Cirium, Emirates will have an offer of 19,948 seats per week to Latin America through four destinations during the northern winter season:

  • Sao Paulo (GRU) daily flights on Airbus A380.
  • Mexico City (MEX) daily flights on Boeing 777-200LR via Barcelona (BCN).
  • Rio de Janeiro (GIG) four flights per week on Boeing 777-300ER (resumes November 2).
  • Buenos Aires (EZE) four flights per week via GIG (resumes November 2).
